A fost momentul considerat de cotitur\u0103, care a marcat trecerea de la Societatea Industrial\u0103 la Societatea Informa\u0163ional\u0103 la nivelul economiei mondiale. Calculatoarele \u015fi echipamentele de comunica\u0163ie reprezint\u0103 infrastructura noii economii, iar departamentele de marketing din organiza\u0163iile moderne sau adaptat, dezvolt\u00e2nd sisteme informatice de marketing utilizate at\u00e2t pentru suportul activit\u0103\u0163ilor curente, c\u00e2t \u015fi pentru dezvoltarea de strategii \u015fi planuri de marketing.
